Character Word for March is Honesty

 

The Van-Far School District will be closing from Wednesday, March 18 through April 3 due the coronavirus.  Homework is being sent home with all students, that will need to be completed and returned to school for a grade.  All online classes are still happening and students are responsible to complete work.  Students and/or Parents may contact teachers by email or by calling school at 594.6442.

 

Van-Far Vo-tech students will NOT attend votech during our closing of Wed. Mar. 18 through April 3.

 

Seniors-If there are scholarship deadlines while we are closed due to the COVID-19, please send completed applications to Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Utterback, and/or Mrs. Pafford’s email addresses.  We will get the applications mailed in and attach necessary transcripts.....If an application requires a letter of reference, please take a photo or scan the letter and attach to your email or they can be dropped at school.

 

The VFTA Dodgeball Tournament has been cancelled for March 20.

 

All FFA Contest and Activities are cancelled or postpones until further notice.  

 

Junior High students - we will have track practice after school today.  Please attend if you are able. 

 

The April ACT test is being postponed until either June or July.  Students will be notified by email. 

 

There will be a softball meeting Tues. March 17th during indian minutes for any girl who is wanting to play high school softball next year. 

 

The Van-Far FFA would like to congratulate Colin Wilburn on being selected at the Area V State Officer Selection on Thursday evening to move on as a finalist for a State FFA Officer. Colin will go through another round of interviews in mid-April to determine if he is selected as one of the 16 members on the officer team. The chapter is VERY PROUD of all the hard work Colin has put in over the last 4 years, and excited for Colin to take this next step! Thank you to everyone who has helped with preparation up to this point, there will be more to come.

 

The next checkpoint ends just a few days before prom so be mindful of what it takes to remain in good standing. Reminder that all lunch bills, fees, and fines must be taken care of prior to prom as well.
