2017-2018 Local Scholarship Descriptions for Class of 2018

The Following Scholarship Opportunities are currently available, turn in applications to the Guidance Office:

 

Missouri School Board-John Belcher Scholarship was established in memory of John T. Belcher, who was instrumental in developing innovative financing programs for Missouri School districts. A $1,000 annual scholarship is awarded to a student in each of MSBA’s 17 regions.  One statewide winner will receive an additional $1,500.  This scholarship application must be turned in to the Guidance Office by Tuesday, December 5, 2017.  The applications will then go before the Van-Far School Board for selection at the December 21, 2017 meeting.

 

Pike County Farm Bureau Scholarship               December 15, 2017

Pike County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers is excited to announce we have $2,000 scholarship(s) to be awarded to high school seniors who attend a Pike County, Missouri school or high school seniors who currently reside in Pike County, Missouri. Please type application.  Applications are due to Bowling Green Farm Bureau office or emailed to pcfbyfscholarship@gmail.com by December 15.

 

NHS Scholarship  due January 30, 2018  Instructions were placed in Your Senior Mailbox for NHS Members.  The entire application is online.

 

The Griffin Foundation Scholarship-(renewable)            March 1, 2018

Deadline to Guidance office by end of day,  Thursday, March 1, 2018  Anna Margaret Griffin sponsors the following:  students must be graduating senior from an Audrain county or Montgomery County Missouri school; for students attending vocational and technical colleges and universities with particular emphasis on students pursuing advanced studies in nursing, health related occupations; medical occupations and education; once the recipient received a scholarship the recipient may continue to apply for additional yearly scholarships provided the recipient is enrolled in a college, university, trade or technical school; any student in college, university trade or technical school may apply with preference to those students having graduated from Audrain or Montgomery counties.  Please have completed applications to the Guidance office so they may be forwarded by the deadline.

 

Griffin Foundation Scholarships for Moberly Area Community College- offers specific scholarships for LPN (nursing) and this year the amount is $4,500.00 over three semesters, per student.  Scholarships for the Medical Lab Technology ($1,000) program are available too.  If you are interested, please call Moberly Area Community College (573-582-0817) for more information.

 

Missouri Farm Bureau Scholarships               due March 15, 2018

Farm Bureau provides a number of scholarship opportunities for students pursuing careers within the scope of agriculture.  Please note that this application requires that your parent(s) or guardian(s) be current members of the Missouri Farm Bureau.  Please also note that many county Farm Bureaus give out individual scholarships as well. 

 

United Credit Union                       due April 1, 2018

United Credit Union-$1,000 Applicants must be a member of United Credit Union (any branch) AND be planning to attend a school of advanced education.  Must have maintained a 2.75 overall grade point average, show evidence of being a good citizen with leadership characteristics, be active in school and community activities.  Applications are due to the Credit Union no later than April 1.  You may email application to ehercules@unitedcu.org
